Black Eagle Newsletter>
Late October Letter

October 28, 2008

Greetings all! Wow, end of October ALREADY?? Hard to
believe here in Sun City, AZ. Well, soon enough I'll be
writing you from Oregon where we experience climate changes
on a regular basis. I want to get this letter out before
the computer gets dismantled.

It seems as days go by, one at a time, that not very much
changes day to day (generally). When I reflect on what was
written in the last newsletter it seems like SO much has
happened since then!

I heard from many of you on the design Apple Dunkin'.
That's one of my favorites too. It sure evokes thoughts of
parties I attended as a child. Can't say that dunking my
face into water and chasing an apple around with my teeth
was all that fun but the artwork was so cute on this one,
it just begged to be stitched.

The design you'll find attached today is called Heart Candy
Canes. This was done a few years back. An opening in the
middle has been left open so the year can be added there.
Christmas is my favorite season because most people just
seem so darned happy then. Everyone hustles and bustles,
surprises are planned, the whole nine yards! These days
it's not politically correct to say Christmas Season. It's
supposed to be Holiday Season, but old habits die hard when
one doesn't want to break 'em anyway.

You'd not know but there's been a few days off between when
this newsletter was begun and today when it is being
finished. During that time Jim and I have been packing for
our move. We've downsized considerably. It's 1:30 in the
morning here and sleep is not to be mine right now so I got
up and grabbed a pair of socks to keep my feet warm.
Quietly creeping from the bedroom, I headed for the living
room to sit down and put them on but there's nothing to sit
on! I forgot.... !!! No matter, leaning against the wall
works very well.

This whole move is an interesting one. Seems like all of
our plans have been exaggerated movements. We decided that
since we had to move, why not just go to a smaller place
and begin anew (lots less trailer to haul that way!) and to
that end, we've been divesting ourselves of many 'things'.
The feeling of letting so much go is actually pretty
refreshing - an unexpected benefit to the move. Truth be
told, the whole move has been rather unexpected, the way
it's played out, but nonetheless it's being done and it's
an adventure in many ways.

This is going to do it for this letter. The next one will
come from our new place in Oregon. The computer will be up
for a few more days but the chance of getting near it is
pretty slim. So many packing boxes are calling my name!

I wish you all safe journeys in your travels, happy
planning for whatever you've got going for the holidays and
peace in your lives.

Take care!
